Jason Cooper, The Cure's powerhouse drummer, will share the fascinating stories of some of the band's most iconic tracks. Learn about life on the road, in the studio, and the magic behind the music. Jason’s professional drumming career began in 1988, playing TV shows and touring with bass player Jean Jaques Burnell of The Stranglers. In the mid 90s he joined The Cure - playing on 5 studio albums, 6 live DVD releases, many TV appearances including Letterman, Jay Leno, Saturday Night Live. He completed over 10 world tours, headlining countless festivals around the world, including Glastonbury 2019 for the 4th time and most recently the sell-out “Songs of a Lost World” tour across Europe and the USA. Jason has recorded drums for an array of world-class artists, such as David Bowie. Jason has also composed many film and TV scores including the 2000 cult classic, American Psycho.
Sirish Manji, known by the stage name Sirishkumar, is a third-generation tabla maestro. Sirishkumar has been playing tabla since the age of six, with music permeating every aspect of his life, carrying on the great tradition of classical Indian music. During his career, Sirish has worked on several collaborations with musicians from a wide variety of backgrounds, including jazz, contemporary classical music, pop and many more musical traditions from all over the world. He also works in his studio in London with all kinds of musicians and artists. Some of his collaborations and projects include Nitin Sawhney at the National Theatre, Peter Oswald’s Augustine’s Oak at The Globe, Westminster Cathedral for the Pope and plenty more.
